Ya Mama got a...

Soooo, I'm back many things have changed. New developments, new relationships, new faces, places, and things. One thing thats always there is Ya Mama. No matter your relationship with the old bat, she's still there, even though she may be in your business, the neighbors business, still giving you marriage advice when she cant stand and/or never even speaks your birthfathers name. She is still there, may be senile, stank, and throwed off. Hey at least she is not dressing in a younger fashion than you! Well if that last one applies to you, at least I think she loves you. . . I think. None the less here it is my 15 minutes with yo mama in al fashions & genres. On this I wanted to forego the cliche Mama songs i.e. Eminem, Maxwell, and who not. Instead focus on yo mama in the title! SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE MILFS. ..just saying...

"Take My Heart & Run"

Sooo, Ya know. I do these daily. About 97% of the time I wake up think of my days recently past, search my files, a think of how can I convey one of my memories to this music I have??? More times than often, I pause in what I want to do, I always have thoughts, but then it comes time to remembering them. . . SMH. Any ways, one of them days, not feeling the whole typing thing;

1*Human Nature = Michael Jackson
2*Right Here(Remix) = SWV
3*Candy Rain = Soul 4 Real
4*Real Love = Mary J Blige
5*Killing Me Softly = The Fugees

Take it & Run

This One Goes Out TO YOU, TO YOU, THIS ONE GOES...

Sooo. While I was at the Guilty Simpson concert, I witnessed this Dj. He was live, he was a GOOD Dj, BUUUTTTTT! While I was listening to his song selection, it hit me! Why is there a certain few songs that most Djs play during their "HIP-HOP Sets"? I love A Tribe, I love Krs One, I love Gangstarr, ya know. Really though kid? EVERY SET? Johnny! Put 'em in a bodybag. I'm dying out here. So what can I do to thwart this repetitive notion? Educate the people on other "lesser known" but equally good songs. On this one I opted to leave out the "party" vibe, although back then that was a good thing about Hip-Hop, it was for all other purposes, stress relief and fun. This mix treads the line between the Streets and the Party. This Hip-Hop from about 1979-1990ish. Featuring one of my all time favorites Busy Bee... Lest not waist time:

R1.Its A Demo = Kool G Rap
R2.Suicide = Busy Bee
R3.Court Is Now In Session = Chill Rob G
R4.The Show Stoppa = Super Nature
R5.Sparky's Turn = Sparky D
R6.Just Buggin = Whistle

Going Back

Sooo, I am a faithfull believer in a higher power (God,Allah, Jah, Jehova, Jaira, Karishna, You Pick). So due to unforeseen issues and circumstances I was without a laptop. What a blessing in disguise, I am a real Dj right? I got vinyl. No big deal. I've done this before. Cool. So I did it. It came out REAL nice, like amazing! There is something about that feeling that is produced by your body when you hear that hiss, cracking, and popping sound when you put a needle on a record. MAAANNNNEEEEE. Sorry... So I wasn't able to upload and what not because I was pressed for time. So later that night I was Dj'd our Fat Tony set at the J Rocc + Guilty Simpson concert. While there I got a chance to see Baby Jae of the all mighty CrackerNutz. All I will say is Motivation. So I apologize for any wackness, So *IF* you ever feel anything I do is wack (terms of music composition/scratching), contact me, we'll talk it out, we will get money together + prosper. Sorry just had to let y'all know what/how I feel. Without further adieu, I present: Vinyl Love

V2. Welcome To Heartbreak = Kanye West feat. Kid Cudi

I'm Going In. Cover Me.

Sooo, Some artist make such a lasting impact on others lives through their art form that people try to recreate or render the medium by their own means of reproduction. Weather it be a print of an a art work, a "study" which is a fancy term for biting their shii, or some fall so hard they maybe even have it inked in a tattoo form. or maybe their obsession is of a different nature, that of music. So for that vice their is karaoke, cars, bathrooms, and even those plastic microphones with a long spring in them. Then there is Youtube.com which is a different beast of a completely different nature. There are 100's of 1,000's of videos of people who have taken to their webcams to cover their favorite artists songs. Whatever genre they want to cover or render, they are all on the web. Hey some even make it to the Ellen show, or other C-List celebrity talk shows. So with no further adieu; I give you 15 Minutes of Cover Me Bad:

That 90's kind of love, pt.1

Soo, born in the 80's, raised the 90's corrupted in the 10's. I was singing this song and I couldn't remember the artist, so I ask my R&B aficionado friend Mr.Fanfair. He couldn't think of it at the time either. So later that day he calls me. and ever since I've been singing the song on & off. So today was one of those days. Hopefully this will do. The song is out of my head & into your ears... This was the best way one could some up early 90's R&B. When it was right on the cusp of the New Jack Swing era. Anyway. Whateva.

Before the Lady of GaGa there was one. . .

Sooo I'm not afraid to say I'm a fan of Lady GaGa. Crazy I know right. Or rather maybe I appreciate what she is doing for commercial music right now. She is making these people step their game up. ALL THE WAY UP. She is a world wide artist at this point. Fashion/Art/Music all in one. Sounds good for her right(although they say she stole Roisin Murphy's style)? Ask yourself how did she get here. Someone else had to open the doors and set the bar very high(which she still hasn't surpassed)? Who would be such a rebel, who could show these scamps how to do it? WAIT?!?!?! Her? That old chick? She did what with a Puerto Rican Flag on tour while she was on tour? YEP, MADONNA! the O.G. to this female controversy stuff. She set the standard for artistic whatevers and pushed the music for the whoevers. So here is just a small dance-ier walkthrough of her some of her material. I tried to put as much as I could into this 15(really like 17) minutes of my mix. Here you go
01.La Isla Bonita = Madonna
02.Justify My Love = Madonna
03.Like A Prayer = Madonna
04.Open Your Heart = Madonna
05.Holiday = Madonna
06.Get Into The Groove = Madonna
07.Lucky Star = Madonna
08.Papa Don't Preach = Madonna
09.4 Minutes(Bob Sinclair Remix) = Madonna
10.Give It To Me = Madonna feat.Pharell
Hail The Queen
P.S. before Madonna was Grace Jones. Do ya homework suckas! But y'all dont like that. . . OWWW.

In My DREAMS

Sooo, I had a crazy ass dream. There were people I know, places I've grown up at/in, I was flying, there were some cute girls, I was making decisions, there were immediate scene changes, also instantaneous time and place changes as well, not to mention some cute girls, even colors, and places, and stuff. WOW! Thank God for dreams. Praise Jah for riddims. Thanks be to Allah for our abilities to muster the strength to combine them. So with all being stated, here is my presentation. Songs about dreams. This is just the first time to do it by the way, there will be more. I am really going to create a rendition of a dream through the soundtrack provide by my imagination coming soon. Maybe on the next rainy morning here in Houston. I feel I got the gist of it, but there were some songs I purposefully left out due to time constraints. . .

Dream On

Ammo-A-GoGo

As taken from This Wikipedia Page "D.C. has its own native music genre called go-go; a post-funk, percussion-driven flavor of R&B that blends live sets with relentless dance rhythms". This music has a good amount of history, change, and influence, not just those songs by Salt-N-Pepa back in the day and a Amerie hit, it is worth checking out. The style/genre of GoGo stretches back to the early funkier beginnings with Chuck Brown(featured on this mix, I mean its only right)who is credited with practically creating GoGo, to the uber popular E.U. Band who practically launched GoGo, to the Classic GoGo staple by J.Y.B. "Sardines", for more on GoGo either talk to anyone from THE REAL H.U.. OR 1.) Download the mix, 2.) Go Here, 3.)
